Landshut offers a beautiful old town with regular markets and the traditional Dult and is known for the medieval Trausnitz Castle overlooking the old town and the historic festival, the Landshut Wedding, which takes place every four years.
The highlight of this festival is the Sunday when the wedding procession accompanied by the wedding party moves through the old town of Landshut. Other events include horse riding and knight games.
The castle houses the Chamber of Art and Curiosities, which exhibits artifacts from the collection of the Wittelsbach dukes.
St. Martin is the main church and landmark of Landshut. The late Gothic hall church with the highest brick tower in the world is one of the most important religious buildings in southern Germany.
